2.The number of papers and the maximum marks for each paper/practical shall be shown in the syllabus for the subject concerned. It will be necessary for a candidate to pass in the theory part as well as in the practical part (wherever prescribed) of a subject/paper separately.
3.A candidate for a pass at each of the Previous and the Final Examinations shall be required to obtain (I) at least 36% marks in the aggregate of all the papers prescribed for the examination and (ii) at least 36% in practical(s) wherever prescribed at the examination, provided that if a candidate fails to secure at least 25% marks in each individual paper at the examination and also in the dissertation/survey report/field work, wherever prescribed, he shall be deemed to have failed at the examination notwithstanding his having obtained the minimum percentage of marks required in the aggregate for the examination. No division shall be awarded at the previous examination. Division shall be awarded at the end of the Final Examination on the combined marks at the Previous and the Final Examinations taken together, as noted below:

All the rest will be declared to have passed the examination.
4.If a candidate clears any Paper(s)/Practical(s)/Dissertation prescribed at the Previous and/or Final Examination after a continuous period of three years, then the purpose of working out his division the minimum pass marks viz. 25% (36% in the case of practical) shall be taken into account in respect of such Paper(s)/Practical(s)/Dissertation are cleared after the expiry of the aforesaid period of three years; provided that in case where a candidate requires more than 25% marks in order to reach the minimum aggregate as many marks out of those actually secured by him will be taken into account as would enable him to make up the deficiency in the requisite aggregate.
5.The Thesis/Dissertation/Survey Report/Field Work shall be type-written and submitted in triplicate so as to reach the office of the Registrar at least 3 weeks before the commencement of the theory examinations. Only such candidates shall be permitted to offer Dissertation/Field Work/Survey Report/Thesis (if provided in the scheme of examination) in lieu of a paper as have secured at least 55% marks in the aggregate of all the papers prescribed for the previous examination in the case of annual scheme irrespective of the number of papers in which a candidate actually appeared at the examination.
6.A non-collegiate candidate shall not be admitted to M. A. Examination in Dramatics as per provisions of Ordinance O.175(A).
7.Eligibility for Admission to M. A.(Previous) Examination in Dramatics:
The following candidates shall be eligible for admission to the M. A. (Previous) Examination in Dramatics:
B. A. with Dramatics as one optional subject with at least 50% marks of total marks of 3 years in the subject of Dramatics and minimum 48% of aggregate marks in B. A. Examination.
Note:
- There shall be no reservation for the handicapped
candidates in M. A.(Dramatics)
- There shall be no sports quota
- The rules related to the admission of the foreign nationals and out of state candidates shall be the same as prescribed by the University, subject to the condition that such candidates posses the minimum eligibility for the admission in M. A. (Previous) examination in Dramatics.

GENERAL RULES
- Students are not allowed to enter into any other arrangement for training outside the department except with the written consent of the Head of Department.
- Students are not allowed to seek or accept any engagement to appear in public, either on the amateur or professional stage or in any radio or TV programme, or undertake employment during their term of study without written consent of the Head of the Department. Even after such consent the students must bear in mind that they can be called at any time for production work in the department at a short notice.
- Students must conduct themselves according to the rules, which govern manners and appearance. Any student guilty of unbecoming conduct may be suspended or expelled as per University rules.
- Students are not allowed to invite visitors or friends to any of the classes, lectures, or rehearsals except with the prior permission of the Head of the Department.
- Students must perform any part for which they are cast and rehearse, play and perform them in a correct painstaking manner as required by the teacher/director or the Head of the Department.
- The students must provide themselves with all the required books, material, and equipment as directed.
- Students will have to abide by the library rules, which shall be given to them separately.
- Students infringing the rules are liable to disciplinary action according to the relevant rules of the University.
