SCHEME OF EXAMINATION
Each Theory Paper 3 hrs. duration 100 Marks
Dissertation/Thesis/ Survery Report/Field Work,if any. 100 Marks

  1. The number of papers and the maximum marks for each paper/practical shall be shown in the syllabus for the subject concerned. It will be necessary for a candidate to pass in the theory part as well as in the practical part (wherever prescribed) of a subject/paper separately.
  2. A candidate for a pass at each of the Previous and the Final Examinations shall be required to obtain (i)atleast 36% marks in the aggregate of all the papers prescribed at the examination, provided that if a candidate fails to secure atleast 25% marks in each individual paper at the examination, and also in the test dissertation/Survey report/field work, wherever prescribed, he shallbe deemed to have failed at the examination and noteithstanding his having obtained the minimum percentage of marks required in the aggregate for that examination. No divison will be awarded at the Previous Examinaton. Divison shall be awarded at the end of the Final Examination on the combined marks obtained at the Previous and the Final Examinations taken together as noted below.
    First Divison 60% of the aggregate marks taken together.
    Second Divison 48% of the Previous and the Final Exam.
    All the rest will be declared to have passed the examination.
  3. If a candidate clears and Papers (s)/Practical(s)/Dissertation prescribed prescribed at the previous and/or the final Examination after a continous period of three years, then for the purpose of working out his division the minimum pass marks only viz. 25% (36% in the case of Practical) shall be taken into accout in respect of such Papers (s)/ Practical (s)/ Dissertation as are cleared after the expiry of the aforesaid period of threee years: Provided to reach the minimum aggregate as many marks' out of those actually secured by him be taken into account as would enable him to make up the deficiency in the requisit minimum aggregate.
  4. The Thesis/Dissertation/Survey Report/Field Work shall by type-written and submitted in tripliicate so as to reach the office of the Registrar atleast 3 weeks before the commencement of the theory examinations. Only such candidates shall be permitted to offer Dissertation/Field work/Survey report/Thesis (if provided in the scheme of examination in lieu of a paper as have secured at-least 55% marks in the aggregate of all the papes prescribed for the number of papers in which a candidate actually apperared at the examination.

N.B. : Non-collegiate candidates are not eligible to offer dissertation as per provisions of O. 170-A

Notes : Theory paper will contain Nine questions having three questions in each section. Candidates are required to attempt. Five questions in all taking at least one question form each section.

Note : Art department should offer only two options from the theory papers listed above according to the existing facilities available. A department will have to seek special permission to provide more than two options from the theory papers listed above it.
(i) There are more than five students offering a paper of papers differnt than the two opted by the department.
(ii) The department has additional facilities and arrangments for staff to offer more than two options from the theory papers.

Practical
Practical 80Marks

Paper A : Landscape Painting size 1/2 Imp.Media Water Colour
Duration 6 Hours (2 days)
Examination should be conducted on the spot for two days with 3 hours sitting per day.
Landscape painting from sight in water colour with proper handling of medium and perspective Landscape of Lanes, City-scapes, skyscapes and hillscapes should be paintd. Study of Bridges, lakes and ground and tree with special effects of environment and also effects of light & shadows.
Paper B : Print Making (Lino, wood cut and Etching)
Duration 15 hours 80 Marks
Note : The ecamination will be donducted in Etching in three days with five hours duration on each day with a break of one hour after 21/2 hours size of the graphic should not exceed 8"x10 Candidates will submit their preliminary sketches and blocks with the final prints.
Submission of Work : 40 M
Every candidate (Previous year) to submit the following work :-
(i) Landscape (water colour) 10 plates
(ii) Graphic Art ; Size 8" x 10" (a) Lino cut 3 plates (b) Wood cut 3 plates (c) Etching 3 paltes
(iii) A sketch book containing not less than 50 sketches size 1/4 Imp.
Marks on the submission work will of the candidate internally by the subject teacher (internal). The work of the candidate will be retained in the Department for one month after the declartion of the result and then returened to the declaration of the result and then returened to the candidate General Instructions.
Notes : (a) candidates should pass in practicals as well as in theory papers separately.
(b) Practical examination should be arranged one month before the commencement of theory examination.
(c) There should be 12 periods for each practical & 6 periods for each theory paper plus three periods for sketching in a week.
(d) The practical answer book shall be examined by one external and internal examiner appointed on the recommendation of the Head of the Department as pe existing practice.

M.A. Final

    The candidate will prepare a composition on a given subject. Prelimnary sketch of the final composition, will be done and submitted after the first siting which will be attached to the final composition. Treatment may be traditional realistic or modern.
    Sudmission of work 40 Marks
    Every candidate will have to submit the following work one month before the commencement of the annual Examination (Final).
    (a) full figure 18 plates
    (b) Composition 10 plates
    (c) Sketch Book containing not less than 50 Sketches Size 1/4
    Marks on the submission work will be awarded internally by the subject teacher (Internal). The work of the candidates will be retained in the Department for one month after the declaration of the result and then returned to the candidate.
    General Instructions :

    (e) The departments should also arrange for an Educational tour to ancient and Modern art centern art centres like Ajanta. Ellor, Elephanta, Khajuraho, Mahablimpuram National Exhibitions, Modern Art galleries Art colleges and places suitable for outdoor sketching.
