( M.Sc. Integrated Biotechnology )

Integrated M.Sc. Integrated Biotechnology shall be of 5 years duration and the syllabus of last two years is given below. Candidates who have completed existing B.Sc. Integrated Biotechnology or First three years of 5 years M.Sc. Integrated Biotechnology shall continue with the following course. In the firt academic year there will be two semesters, that is , seventh and eight and in the second academic years there will be again two semesters, that is ninth and tenth.
The distribution of papers will be as following in the different semesters:

FORTH YEAR - SEVENTH SEMESTER
Paper - I The Tool of Biotechnlogy 100 Marks
Paper - II Applications of Biotechnlogy 100 Marks
Paper - III Phylogenetics & Comparative Genomics 100 Marks

* the elective paper will be based on detailed review report on the one of the course topic listed in the paper. The student will make a complete report in about 100 pages that shall be evaiuated by the coourse coordinator and one internal teacher. The marks will be awarded internally.

The candidate will be required to undertake a project work of 6 month duration on a relevant / current topic of biotechnology in a reputed industry / R & D center / Institute, and submit a scientific report of the work done on the project under the guidance of supervisor at the work place.
All papers should carry five question. The first question in each paper will be compulsory and it should be based on the entire syllabus. It will cover 20% marks. It will be objective type and will have short question to judge the ability of students for the grasp of the subject. The rest four question will be of descriptive type. There will be four units each with one internal choice. the student have to attempt one question from each unit. This will carry 80% marks.
