History

The ASC of the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur was established on 11 may 1988. today its standing is among one of the best ASCs of all universities of india.

For making higher education institution (the University) an active hubs of academic activity, the UGC-ASC is envisaging its new role, which of necessity, is to be multidimensional and integrative .

The job of the ASC is manifold,but all roads lead to a single goal: to facilitate the growth of academic quality.

The ASC has become the hub of academic activities in the University. In terms of organizing highest number of programmes other than Orientation and Refresher Coures.Our ASC is rated as one of the best ASC's in the country in terms of number of Courses conducted ,Cost effectiveness and participation.

The ASC organizes the trainng programmes (Orientation and Refresher) with the objectives-to give impetus to newly recruited lectures to become effective class room teachers and become self-reliant; to facilitate senior teachers to continuously update their knowledge and help them develop a culture of continuous learning; to motivate decision makers to accept reforms as part of growth and development; and also to rejuvenate the institution builders and inculcate in them a spirit of quality management of their institutions.

The Orientation programme is 4 weeks duration, whereas the Refresher Course is 3 weeks. so far ,286 Refresher Courses and 81 Orientation Programme in different subjects have been conducted.

Over 12874 teachers have benefited through these courses.

These courses have been divided broadly in to five modules:(a) Awareness of linkage between Society, Environment; and Education; (b) Philosophy of Education, Indian Education System and Pedagogy; (c) Subject upgradation; (d) Management and Personality development;(e) Information Technology.

The ASC during last 21 years has been able to build up a functional and useful library. At present there are more than 4575 books. the library subscribes prestigious and internationally reputed journals in various fields. moreover, the ASC has a well equipped setup in terms of audio visual aids and a good computer lab.the ASC has a Guest House for its participant.
